It all started on April 23rd at Pizza Wine Disco in Toronto. A night that almost didn’t happen.

She had already called an Uber home, and he wasn’t even planning to go out. But then, on a whim, she cancelled the ride, and he got this weird feeling that maybe he should actually show up. Looking back, it’s kind of crazy how close they came to missing each other entirely.

He saw her in line and just went for it. After a couple of deep breaths (and probably some internal pep talk), he walked up and offered to buy her and her friend a drink.

And that was it. That was when the magic happened.

They started talking, and everything else just faded away. Hours flew by. The conversation came easily (the kind of easy that usually takes months or years to find, but somehow they had it right away). And before the night ended, he asked her out. She said yes.

What started as “let’s hang out a few times a week” turned into every single day. Friends became best friends. Best friends became inseparable. And somewhere along the way, they both realized this was it. It was love like neither of them had ever known.
